With detailed plans, instructions and explanations of the wood and tools required. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour photos plus b/w plans. ISBN: 1861263619. Some damp mottling to boards. Spine cocked. Minor foxing to text block. A few light marks to endpapers. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly scuffed and has a minor biro mark to front panel. Musty odour present.

Very good condition.
The Age of Oak, The Age of Walnut, The Age of Mahogany, and The Age of Satinwood. Very large, heavy volumes. Red cloth boards, gilt titles with publisher vignette to front. Top edges gilt. 15 colour plates, after Shirley Slocombe, per volume with titled tissue-guard. Numerous b/w illustrations by the author. First published 1904; 1905; 1906; and 1908 respectively. Uneven fading to cloth and spines are very faded with a few marks. Slight fraying to board corners. Some scattered foxing present, some foxing to plates - some badly foxed to margins, others just a little, others clean. All plates and tissue-guards present. Some plates detached mostly in The Age of Oak, some of these are worn at edges and creased but not affecting the subject of the plate. All volumes are first editions 1904-1908. A few margin marks. A very nice set for someone with an interest in furniture making.
