Very good condition.
Cream cloth, dark green titles and decorative peach border to front cover. Beautiful mounted colour plates and two-tone text illustrations. 108 pages. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Covers a bit grubby with a light splash mark to rear cover. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Light fingermarks to page margins else contents clean.

Almost very good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper.
Music by Rev. Thomas Crawford. Cream boards, pictorial onlay to front cover. 10.5 x 8". Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Board edges a little rubbed and browned. Dated inscription in ink to front pastedown. Endpapers a little browned. Some finger marks to page edges. First few pages have small closed tear to top edge. Dustwrapper is edge worn with tears. Slight loss to rear panel which also has 4 small holes. Spine is browned. Rear flap is creased. Front panel is a little grubby.

Spine bumped. Covers a bit grubby. Child's name in ink to front pastedown. Book opens to verso of frontis so possibly free-endpaper is missing? Some light fingering to contents and a couple of corners lightly creased. Slight surface paper damage to title-page and a small tear at base of margin. A decent copy of a scarce book.

B/w text illustrations by Rhys. 238 pages, top edge green. Spine and corners bumped and worn, covers are a bit grubby and gilt to spine has faded. Front free-endpaper removed. Front and rear joints cracked causing contents to be a bit loose. Some grubby fingermarks to contents. Hinges pulled/cracked. Pages 58 and 59 lightly scribbled on with blue crayon. A decent copy of a very scarce Tarrant item.

Margaret Tarrant
Margaret Winifred Tarrant (19 August 1888 – 29 July 1959) was an English illustrator, and children's author, specializing in depictions of fairy-like children and religious subjects. She began her career at the age of 20, and painted and published into the early 1950s. Her pretty, naturalistic illustrations were widely known and very popular, particularly in the 1920s and 1930s,when she was very prolific and famous.
