Autobiography, reaching back into the inter-war period when the author was in the Burmese administration after years as a regimental officer in the 1914-1918 war. The Second World War found him in the National Defence Company of the Berkshire Regiment whence he moved into the non-technical hierarchy of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Green cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Top & tail of spine lightly shelf worn. Lower front corner lightly bumped. Text block browned and has a few foxspots. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly rubbed at corners and grubby.
