The British South Georgia Expedition 1954-1955 was the first expedition to enter Antarctic regions with mountaineering as its principal objective. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. Minor foxing to top edge of text block. Boards clean and bright. Light browning to endpapers. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge torn to lower front with tape repairs to verso (no loss), the longest of these tears is jut over 4" at front spine edge, rear panel is a little grubby.
An account of a long land journey to ascertain the feasiblity of constructing a railway to connect the chief cities of France and America, Paris and New York. Smaller format. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. Minor creasing to front board, spine browned, rear board stained at vertical edge. Name & date in ink to front pastedown. Front hinge between frontis and title page split, rear joint split, binding is still tight. Endpapers and text block browned.
Second Edition. Historical and descriptive; commercial and Industrial; facts, figures, & resources. Large format. Green cloth boards, gilt titles and vignette of palm tree to front board. B/w photos. Green mottling to text block. Damp stain to top & tail of spine. Small hole in cloth to front edge of spine. Uneven fading to boards. Professional repair of joints with matching blue cloth. Endpapers mottled with damp. Front hinge starting to pull, binding tight. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is unevenly browned and worn at corners, rear panel lightly marked. A nice copy of a scarce item.

Cream imitation leather boards, gilt titles. Colour plates. ISBN: 3764702834. Pictorial dustwrapper has a small closed tear to base of spine and is lightly scuffed to rear panel. Contained in a thin card slipcase in very good condition.

Corners of boards bumped and worn. Front endpaper missing. Light browning to contents. All illustrations present.
