Booksellers ink address stamp to front pastedown. Prize inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Hinge between frontis and title-page is cracked, showing webbing beneath. Foxing to textblock and to prelims. Some slight marking to title-page.

Old tape mark to endpapers and wrapper flaps where wrapper was stuck down to pastedowns. Light browning to textblock. Evidence of removal of a label to front free-endpaper. School library stamp to title-page (neat), no other library markings. Wrapper is slightly worn at edges with printed price of 60p to front flap.

Damp stain to lower edge of front cover (slightly affects the prelims inside). Erased pencil markings and a few other marks to front endpapers. A few small spots to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge worn and grubby, damp staining to lower edge of front panel (with some slight loss as well).

Pinhole to rear board pierces last few pages. Foxing to text block. Contents otherwise clean. Red pictorial dustwrapper is scuffed and lightly rubbed at corners, small indentations to rear panel.
