18 colour plates, specially drawn for this edition. Dark green cloth. Gilt titles to spine. Elaborate gilt decoration to front cover. 291 pages. Bumping and wear to spine and corners; couple of small splits to spine; a little fraying to cloth. Browning and foxing; mostly to endpapers and outer page edges, but some to pages internally.
Blue cloth, gilt titles and decorations. 18 tipped-in plates in colour, specially drawn for this edition. Published for Boots The Chemist. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Some light scratch marks to covers and browning to spine. Foxing and a musty smell to contents. Plates present and fine.
The Merlin series. Green cloth. Black titles. Colour frontis. 248 pages. Spine bumped. Bump to side of front board. Spine slight browned. Small piece of blue sticky paper to front pastedown. Slight wrinkling to prelims. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with tears and some loss to top and bottom of spine. Pencil ticks, numbers and writing to rear panel. Spine browned. Wrapper is grubby.

Spine is browned and foxed, Covers are marked. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Front joint is cracked. Foxing to endpapers, edge of text block and several pages throughout the book. Colour plates all present and are bright and clean.
