Stories and poems about pets. Pictorial boards showing three children at a gate and a small black dog. Green cloth spine. Mounted colour frontis (chromolithograph) plus b/w illustrations. 3 page book list to rear. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. A few marks to covers. Some scuffing also to covers. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. A few margin marks and foxspots.

Prize plate to front pastedown. Front joint and a couple of hinges cracked. Some pages a little detached at bottom but binding generally tight. Tears to a couple of pages. Page edge browning. Some fingering and a few marks to contents.
