Small oblong format. Pictorial boards with brown spine. Pretty colour and sepia illustrations throughout. A sobering tale of what happens when three children take three baby birds from their nest. Covers are edge worn and grubby. Backstrip is missing. Name plate to front pastedown. Erased pencil marks to front pastedown. Foxing to endpapers, a couple of foxspots to page margins. Front joint is cracked and a little weak but still holding.

Nister volume 1364. Very small format (6.5 x 8.25cm). Brown cloth, gilt title and red flower vignette to front cover. Lovely colour illustrations (chromolithographs). Short sayings by famous authors surrounded by illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Split to cloth on front edge of spine. Front joint is cracked. Name in ink to front free-endpaper, inscription in ink (dated 1905) to verso of front free-endpaper). Some foxing and light page browning but contents generally clean.

Name and date in ink to top corner of title-page. There is a light stain affecting the margins of the rear half of the book (8 pages).

Colour chromolithographic illustrations plus two tone illustrations. Bumping and wear to cover edges, corners and spine. Scuffing and marks to covers. Has possibly been rebound or restitched at some point; the front fly-leaf is now missing. Foxing and marks to pages throughout. Illustrations are still bright.
