Covers show Korky as Santa Claus and mice up to mischief. Black glazed pictorial boards. Two-tone illustrations throughout. Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Laminate to spine cracked and slightly peeling. Top of spine is split both sides. Front joint just starting to crack. Small mark to front endpaper. Price NOT cut. Name and address in belongs to box with some writing (Christmas 1967 in sack) below. Contents clean.

Embossed green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. 176 pages, all edges gilt. 6 hand-coloured plates with tissue-guards. Spine and corners bumped and slightly rubbed. A few small marks to covers and gilt dulled on spine. Inscription in ink to front pastedown and name in ink to endpaper. Front joint cracked. A few small closed tears to page margins and some corner tips creased (including one plate). Grubby fingermarks to some margins and a couple of pages creased. Still a nice copy of this Victorian children's book.

Small patch of loss also to top of front panel. Still a nice copy of this rarer item.

A few foxspots to contents but generally near fine. Scarce original dustwrapper is in two halves, browned, and torn at edges with loss to top 1/3 of spine and to lower rear corner. Reduced from £120.
