John Bird, prominent citizen and life-long resident of Cardiff, wrote his diary in order to keep his employer - the first Marquess of Bute - informed about local events concerning Cardiff Castle and its vast estates in Glamorgan. Edited by Hilary M. Thomas. Red boards, gilt title to spine. Map to endpapers. B/w illustrations. ISBN: 0950867632. Black pictorial dustwrapper is lightly scuffed, and rubbed at top edges.
Three volumes. Blue cloth with gilt decorations and titles. Colour and b/w plates. Selected and edited by Latham. Small red mark to lower edge of text block of first volume else books fine. Slipcase is scuffed at base.
