This volume is a reprint of the 4th edition (Chepstow, 1978). Green cloth, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. ISBN: 0906134021. Previous owner's small name & address label stuck across front flap of dustwrapper and front pastedown. Rear panel of dustwrapper has a few tiny closed edge tears.

Set of 4 books, each containing 10 colour plates. Books cover following periods: William I-Henry III; Edward I-Richard III; Henry VII-Elizabeth and James I-Edward VII. Red cloth spines. Pictorial onlays to front covers. SIGNED by author with dedication to previous owner to first volume of set. Bottom 1" of spine to first volume has splitting with some fraying of cloth. Some other nicks and chips to spine, with varying degrees of fading. Couple of covers are a bit bowed with some marks. Corners are worn, with some chipping. Foxing and browning to endpapers and outer page edges. Some margin marks to pages. Closed tear (repaired with magic tape) to one front endpaper.
