Trolleybuses first came to London in a small way, being introduced in south west London in 1931 by London United Tramways. Following on from this, in five years between 1935 and 1940 London Transport built up a massive and complex trolleybus network in its replacement of trams. When the Second World War brough development to a halt, London Transport had an operational fleet of 1,671 trolleybuses - by far the largest fleet in the world. Large format. Pictorial glazed boards.
