The 6th Lone Pine book, set against a real background of Romney Marsh. Cream cloth, red titles. Endpapers are maps of Romney Marsh. B/w illustrations. 248 pages. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Slight browning to top and tail of spine. Very pale foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with some slight loss, rear panel is slightly grubby.

Blue boards with red titles and lone pine vignette. B/w illustrations. 2nd impression. Spine and corners bumped. Dents to centre of front cover (which protrude though to the first few pages). Ink name stamp to front free-endpaper. Contents are browned but clean. Dustwrapper is edge rubbed, slightly sunned to spine and has a scratch mark and a few dents to front panel (matching the dents on the cover).

Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper has a tape mark to front flap, is edge-worn iwth a small tape repair to front lower edge, and is grubby to rear panel.

Inscription in ink and some pencil markings (old price and date) to half title-page. Light foxing to textblock and top edge of textblock slightly grubby. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is a bit grubby to spine and rear panel, is edge worn with slight loss at corners and spine ends and is lightly creased. A nice copy of a scarce Lone Pine title.
