2 volumes. Brown leather covers, gilt borders. B/w plates. Includes sections on dogs, plus fox and stag hunting, hare coursing. Rabbit, martin, badger and otter hunting. Angling, game shooting and waterfowl etc. Both volumes have been rebacked with new spines with raised bands; new endpapers, original boards and pages. Volume 1 No longer has its title page. All plates present. Volume 1 was published in 1801 and Volume 2 in 1802. Scuffing and wear to covers; heavy wear to corners. Foxing, browning and some margin marks.

Pockets containing diagrams of shooting from various choke-bore guns (three larger folded diagrams, and 3 smaller folded diagrams, all are printed on both sides.) Two fold-out tables. B/w illustrations. vii, 215, xv and 4 pages of publisher adverts to rear. Name and date in ink to front pocket (x 2). Name and date in ink to half-title page. Name in ink to page 11 and page 93 (neat and contemporary). Front and rear joint strengthened amateurishly with brown paper glued to joint, also to verso of front endpaper and facing half-title page. Rear hinge is broken (after page 4 of publisher advertistements) and therefore cloth starting to come away from the spine inside the book. All diagrams mentioned are present. Fold-out tables are creased and worn on folds.

Binding weak with 3 plates and rear endpaper detached. Believed to be complete. Detached plates are also have some loss to margins and generally browned. Front endpaper creased. Front joint almost broken. Spine has some splitting and fraying to top and tail. Board edges worn.
