All parts and plates are present, including frontispiece (which is absent from many copies). Frontis has tape repairs to verso.

Volume II is cracked to outside front spine edge with slight loss of leather to top. Contemporary inscription in ink to front endpapers. Volume II has insect damage to gutter edge of prelims. Scattered foxing and age marks throughout.
