Full of b/w illustrations. Easy to read text. Story of a nice tabby cat who lived on a farm with three kittens - two boys and a girl. Cloth spine, yellow pictorial front board showing three kittens with ball of red wool. Covers lightly scuffed, corners lightly rubbed. Remains of label to front pastedown. Stitching is coming loose from the covers so contents are very loose. A few small marks and foxspots to contents.

First edition produced in 1897 but dated 1898. 2nd state of 1st edition (has plain endpapers). Spine and corners are bumped. Small split to base of spine. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Light foxing to prelims. Frontis has silvery sheen, giving an overall browned effect.
