Green boards, black title to spine. Spine and corners bumped. Spine a little browned. Some hinges cracked, one badly cracked being held by the threads but binding remains tight. Some pages browned. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a couple of small tears. Spine and edges browned and rear panel is grubby.

Yellow endpapers. Chromo illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers lightly discoloured, spine browned. Small pink mark to lower edge of front cover. Joints cracked, front joint possible repaired. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins and some light foxing to contents. Top corner tips lightly creased.

Dean's Embossed Chromo Painting Toy Books (Gold Medal Children's Toy Books series) no. 3. Pale blue pictorial cardwraps. 4 full-page colour illustrations, b/w text illustrations throughout. Unpaginated but 16 pages. Told in verse. 4 white pages embossed with the same design as the colour illustration they are opposite designed for colouring in. Some light foxing and general grubbiness to covers. Small split to base of spine. A few light fingermarks at page margins but contents are otherwise clean and unused. An unusual item.

Grandmamma Easy's sixpenny series. Original binding of blue cardwraps, this copy has been bound into leather covers with gilt titles and blocking. 8 leaves, printed on one side only. Illustrated 8 b/w engravings coloured by hand. Leather covers are edge worn. Stitching has been pulled causing book inside covers to be very loose. Covers of blue wraps split at spine. Inscription in ink to top margin of page 2 (title page). Lower corner tip of page 4 torn off (no lose of text). Contents are well fingered and a little grubby but very good for the age of the book.

Front cover shows kitten being tickled by a blade of wheat by a mouse whilst sitting on a high stool having his photo taken by a cat. B/w illustrations throughout, some to colour, some to copy. Covers worn with some surface paper loss, spine a little frayed at top and tail. Joints split. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Hinges pulled apart. Some pages detached. Possible that some pages may be missing but not known. Contents grubby with fingermarks. Binding still holding but fragile. White colouring to couple of pages. A reading copy only.

A collection of Dean's Coloured Picture Books. Illustrated with numerous handcoloured engravings. 9.75 x 6.5 inches. Bound in blue boards with blue cloth spine. 40 of 44 coloured plates present (3 plates missing from last booklet and possibly title page from first). Some repairs to pages. 2 pages have lower corner removed, not affecting text or illustration. Some foxing and browning to contents but these are nice examples of these early picture books with the colours still bright. Rebacked with new endpaper. Boards unevenly faded.
