Dark cream boards, black titles. B/w text illustrations. A little bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is creased with chips and tears to edges; some repairs to verso with sticky tape. Some small loss to corners of wrapper; a few grubby marks.
The third book about the endearing Mr. Twiddle. Red boards, black titles. B/w text illustrations. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. A little fading along cover edges. Pencil indentation marks (pencil erased) to prelims. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and a few page margins. One hinge a little pulled. Wrapper is edge-torn and chipped with scuffing; some loss at corners and top and tail of spine; Some grubby marks and foxing.
Blue boards, black titles. B/w illustrations. Lots of golly pictures. 160 pages. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Browning to cover edges. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some grubby margin and page marks. Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with tears and chips; some loss; repaired to verso with sticky tape. Grubby marks to wrapper.

Smuggler Ben was really a fisherboy who loved pretending to be a smuggler. Orange cloth, red titles and small vignette to front cover. Tower House Series. Written under the name of Mary Pollock, a pseudonym of Enid Blyton. Base of spine bumped. Dark spots (foxing?) to top and bottom of covers. Ink inscription to front pastedown. Some foxing, mainly to endpapers, prelims and text block. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped at ends of spine and folds. Tear to base of spine repaired with clear tape on verso. Small hole near base of front fold. Spine, folds and verso browned. Rear panel slightly grubby. Foxing to verso.

Also includes 'The Faraway Tree'. Spine and corners bumped. Top of boards browned. Large inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Some foxing and a few marks to margins otherwise contents generally clean. Price cut pictorial wrapper is edge worn with some tears and creasing and loss to top of front panel. Some white marks to rear panel. Wrapper is grubby.

The third book about the endearing Mr. Twiddle. Red boards, black titles. B/w text illustrations. Boards lovely and clean, minor patch of fading to base of spine. Page 31 has minor grubby mark to margin else contents are clean. A couple of pages have small closed tears to margin edges (not affecting any text). Dustwrapper is edge-worn and chipped with a few closed tears to edges and some browning, spine is a little faded. Overall a lovely copy of a first edition.
