Red cloth with gilt titles and black decoration to spine. Gilt title block with green titles and black decoration to front.B/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Covers grubby and a little marked. Prize presentation plate to front pastedown. Foxing mainly to page edges. Some grubby margin marks. Top corner of one page is creased.

Corners bumped and rubbed. Front joint just starting to split from bottom edge. Some hinges pulled. Pages 1235-1240 detached. Contents clean.
Large format. Red leather spine and corners. Raised bands and gilt title to spine. Green decorated cloth with gilt vignettes. 60 hand-coloured engraved plates. Wear to cover edges; some darkening marks to edges of leather. Front joint is cracked, with some chipping. Some foxing and grubby marks to pages internally, but illustrations are exquisite!
Full blue leather binding. Gilt titles, decorations and raised bands to spine. Marbled edges and endpapers. 8 colour plates and numerous b/w wood engravings. 2nd edition. Inscription in ink to half-title. Prelims and last few pages foxed. Corners worn.
