Red cloth spine with black titles and vignette. Pictorial front cover shows boy about to kiss girl under the mistletoe, she's holding teddy, dog in front. Edited by Vredenburg. 6 colour plates, incl. 2 by Wain. B/w and two-tone illustrations. 128 pages. Heavy crease to corner of rear cover. Chipping and wear to other covers. Couple of splits to spine, with some fraying to cloth. Binding is a bit weak - some pages have partially come away at hinge. Name in ink to front endpaper with tape mark. All plates are present - but frontis has chipping along edge, with some loss and at least one other plate has margin tear. Pages 31/32 and one plate are Detached. A reading copy.

Rear board grubby and a little scratched. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Front joint beginning to crack. Pages browned. Crease to front endpaper. Imprint of inscription to half title page. Corner missing from top of one page and small piece from side of another. Slight surface paper damage to the top of two pages.
