Edited by Stanhope Sprigg. The first Louis Wain annual. Pictorial paperwraps depict black cat with white paws positioned between two floral displays watching a trio of mice and skipping rope. Many b/w illustrations of anthropomorphic cats in Wain's comical style. 2nd edition of the 1st annual. Original spine is MISSING; has been rebacked with original front and rear covers laid onto new spine. Many tape mark repairs to edges of both covers; foxed and creased with some chipping and pieces of loss. However, contents are generally still very good, especially for this age; some foxing/browning.
Green cloth spine. Yellow pictorial front board. Colour & b/w illustrations including Louis Wain vignettes. 13th year. Covers edge worn. Covers slightly grubby. Spine worn at top and tail and frayed at lower rear edge. Joints are cracked. Old tape to pastedowns. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Some light fingermarks to page edges but generally contents clean.

Red pictorial cloth with gilt title labels. B/w illustrations throughout. 528 pages plus index to Vol 1. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers a bit grubby and marked. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Foxing to textblock, some light fingermarks to page margins and some corner tips creased.
Nister No. 584. Brown cloth spine. Pictorial paper covered boards shows Fully clothed Dandy Lion in top hat with a billboard in the background. Colour frontis of 'The Stork and the Owl'. B/w illustrations throughout. Bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Damp mark down edge of rear cover. Some scuffing. Award plate to front pastedown. Page browning; some other marks to pages.
Pictorial boards. Front cover shows Fox with cockrel. B/w illustrations throughout. Some cats by Wain. Spine and corners slightly bumped and worn. Front cover illustration is still bright. Some slight chipping of paper covering to spine. Small binding error of crease in paper to rear cover. Inscription in ink to verso of title-page (dated 1909) and one name crossed out and replaced with another. Some slight foxing and fingering to contents. Light tobacco smell to contents.

Rear cover is slightly grubby. Name and date in ink to front free-endpaper. Front joint cracked and frontis missing. Ragged edges and margin tears to plates. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins.

Brown cloth spine with dark brown title and illustration, pictorial front board. Colour plates plus b/w text illustrations (mostly Wain but others also). Spine is grubby. Covers are edge worn and also grubby, a couple of small scratch marks to front cover. New endpapers. Some light foxing. Some colouring to some of the b/w illustrations and some erasing as well. There is a musty (tobbaco?) smell to the contents.
Pictorial boards. Front cover shows girl walking a large dog in the snow. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. First item is "Cheerful Conversation". 1 b/w Louis Wain illustration entitled "A bogus Father Christmas". Spine slightly bumped and grubby. Corners worn. Rear cover is slightly grubby. Endpapers have been professionally replaced. Contents are browned and foxed.
Pictorial boards, blue cloth spine. Front board shows cat at a writing desk with 3 kittens behind. Colour mounted frontis plate, two dogs playing at the sea-side. B/w illustrations throughout, many of cats! 87 pages. 10 x 8". Spine has faded to brown, with some other marks; appears to have been repaired to top and tail at some point. Heavy scuffing and surface paper damage to covers. Corners are bumped and very worn. Joint/hinge between title page and frontis is cracked, showing stitching and webbing. Foxing and browning to pages throughout.

Browning to outer page edges and some page margins, which also have a few small tears. A reading copy.
