Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn, small piece missing to top edge of slightly grubby rear panel and small ink tick mark to title list on rear panel. Spine of wrapper is slightly browned.

This is Patrick O'Brian's first book, written when he was still in school, under his real name 'Patrick Russ'. Red cloth with green titles. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations. Caesar is a cub in the Tibetan forests; it follows his early wild life, how he became an orphan and also tells of his capture and taming. REDUCED PRICE. Spine and cover edges are faded, with some more fading starting to affect front and back covers. Light foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. In 2ND issue dustwrapper with colour pictorial onlay to front. The wrapper is showing browning, to same parts that are faded undernath. A few light marks but complete with no tears or chips.
Very large format. 15 x 14". Blue cloth spine, pictorial boards. Beautiful full-page colour illustrations plus b/w chapter headers. Covers worn and grubby. Front joint broken, rear joint holding (just) - would benefit from being reattached to covers. Staples rusty. A few small grubby marks to margins but overall contents are lovely. REDUCED FROM Â£240.

Two books bound in one. Peter is the story of Louis Wain's own cat with b/w illustrations. Teufel is Carrington's dog and is illustrated in b/w by Carrington. Pages: 88 (Peter) + 90 (Teufel). Blue cloth. Gilt title on spine is 'Peter - Teufel'. REDUCED FROM Â£480. Peter is 1st edition 1892. Teufel is 4th edition 1891. Covers unevenly faded. Corners bumped and worn. One inch split to top of spine. Small marks to covers. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. A few margin marks and scattered foxing. Contents generally clean. A decent copy of this scarce early Wain, rare with additional title.
