Green cloth, dark green titles to front cover and spine. 4 b/w plates. 288 pages, top edge stained green. Spine and corners bumped and spine worn. Some light spotting to lower edge of rear cover. Name and date in ink to front pastedown, inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers browned. Light foxing to textblock.

Dustwrapper is edge worn with tears to ends of spine and folds. Spine faded. A couple of small marks to rear panel.

First story is 'The Socialist' by Mrs. J.D. Westwood. 208 pages. Spine bumped, worn and browned with a few marks. Corners and cover edges worn. Marks to covers. Small amount of crossed out writing to front endpaper. Grubby mark to top corner of half-title page. Rear joint and a couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Light foxing and a few marks to contents. All plates present.

Couple of little bumps to top and bottom of rear board. Book leans to one side. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Front joint and some hinges badly cracked meaning binding feels loose. Marks mostly to margins of some pages. 1 plate is MISSING and one is detached.

Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Prize plate to front pastedown. Both joints are cracking (showing webbing). Heavy foxing but contents generally clean.

A country school, entirely of seniors, is suddenly invaded by five juniors, of 12 years old or less, accepted by the headmistress for various reasons. Green boards with red titles to spine. 240 pages. Spine a little bumped. Slight bump to top corner of first thirty pages. Contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn and a little chipped. Rear panel is browned. Wrapper is generally grubby.
