Derry Brabbs spent the best part of a decade taking the photographs for the large-format illustrated walking guides which A. Wainwright wrote from 1984 to 1992. This is a fascinating account of Derry's training and adventures from his early days as a photographer, including his first meeting with Wainwright. Large format. Blue boards, silver title to spine. Second Edition. Grey cloth boards with burgundy titles. 16 colour plates and 36 b/w plates, 2 maps. Top edge burgundy. Top & tail of spine slightly worn else boards clean. Text block browned. Gift inscription in ink to front endpaper. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is heavily browned, edge-worn with a few chips, front panel is detached from spine edge and clumsily fixed with brown tape to verso, couple of water stains to spine, minor foxing to rear panel.
