Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
This book describes one of the longest journeys made in Soviet Russia by a writer without political bias. The story of a journey into the hears of the Russians and into the hears of places visited, from Moscow to Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, Baku and Tbilisi, Kiev, and Moscow to Siberia and back. Blue cloth baords, gilt title to spine. Folding map to rear. Spine lightly browned. Text block browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is browned, grubby, edge-rubbed, repaired/strengthend to verso with brown paper tape.

The Stones of Venice was originally published in 3 volumes between 1851 and 1853. Ruskin believed that the best of Gothic architecture was to be found in Venice. This edition is in beautiful terracotta pictorial cloth with colour plates by Ruskin. 350 pages includes index. Edited and Introduced by Jan Morris. A lovely copy contained in publisher's slipcase which has some light scuffing.

This is the ninth volume of the author's enterprising travels through the waterways of Europe. The author's boat Commodore surges swiftly down the Rhone towards the marshes of the Camargue and the Mediterranean. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. Vertical edge of front board has tape from top to tail folded from front to front pastedown inside. Remains of a bookplate to front endpaper. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper has a minor nick to lower front edge of spine, a small glue stain to publisher name on spine else lovely. Musty odour present.
