B/w illustrations. 34 pages plus 2 page publisher adverts and several blank pages to rear. Marbled endpapers. Spine browned, leather edges rubbed. Heavy foxing to prelims and blank pages to rear. A few grubby marks to contents.

Red cloth, elaborate gilt decorations. All edges gilt, 12 mounted colour plates with tissue-guards & numerous b/w/ illustrations. 283 pages. Pale blue illustrated endpapers. Spine faded, bumped and worn with tiny nicks to cloth at ends. Water(?) stain to top corner of rear cover alongside spine. A few other small marks to covers, corners bumped and worn. Front pastedown faded, ink inscription to front endpaper. Rear pastedown also faded with some leeching of colour from cover, to top inside corner, from stain on verso. A few hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Contents have a few marks and fox spots but most pages are clean. All plates present.

Red cloth spine with black title, pictorial front board showing children on tricycle with dog running beside them. First story is "The Young Adventurers" by Fielding. Colour plates plus b/w and two-colour illustrations. Spine and corners bumped, some slight wear to cover edges. Prize plate to front endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn and torn and a little grubby on rear panel, tape repairs/reinforcements on verso.
