Black stain to top of front cover. Prize plate to front pastedown. Writing in ink (two addresses) to front free-endpaper. Child's name in pencil to half title-page. Small stains to textblock. Contents browned. Price-cut wrapper is edge worn with tears to corners of rear panel. Ink doodles and writing to verso of wrapper.

Some foxing to endpapers and a foxspot to lower margin of page 22. A couple of the b/w illustrations have been very neatly coloured in. Dustwrapper is badly worn and torn with substantial loss to top of front panel and large tears at edges and rear panel.
