Very pale page browning to endpapers. Foxing to prelims and page edges. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some slight loss, spine slightly browned and lower 2" of front flap torn off. A nice copy in very scarce dustwrapper.

Floral endpapers. All edges gilt. Corners rubbed, top & tail of spine worn. Covers lightly scuffed. Small bookplate to front pastedown. Small closed tear to lower edge of front joint and free front endpaper. Endpapers, title page and last page browned. Hinges pulled but binding tight. A few marks to contents. Still a nice copy.

6 beautiful colour plates. Pictorial boards, cloth spine. Front cover shows Goldilocks with three teddy bears. 159 numbered pages. 11.5" x 8.5". Spine and corners bumped and worn. Cover edges worn and faded. Covers are a little bit grubby. Lower 2" of front joint cracked. Lower corner of front free-endpaper is creased. Fingermarks to contents and some light foxing but generally clean. "The Three Bears" plate has been reinserted at some stage (is now slightly shorter than the rest of the pages and has some slight damage at inner margin). Rear free-endpaper has been replaced. A couple of large spots to rear pastedown.

Spine and corners a little bumped, corners slightly worn. Small nick to lower edge of front cover. Small split to spine rear edge. Covers clean with gilt still bright. Attractive pictorial bookplate of Dora Allison on front pastedown. Inscription in ink on front endpaper dated December 1869. Some light creasing to pages and some fingermarks. Two pages have circular black marks to them (pages 88 and 120). A bright copy of a scarce early fairy tale book.
