Almost very good condition.
Extracts from the diary of a Mongrelian named Gibus, so-called, says his master, because his face reminds him of his opera hat when it is shut up! Large format. Light brown pictorial cloth. Delightful and amusing colour plates plus a few b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. A few light marks to covers. Browning to endpapers. Small piece missing from edge of rear pastedown and light stain to top corner. Ink inscription to verso of frontis. A couple of corner tips creased. A few closed margin tears with no loss. Occasional fox spots and light margin marks but overall a decent copy with contents clean and bright.

Brown cloth spine, brown paperboards. Front cover has vignettes of cats with central pictorial onlay of a cat tailor sewing on a patch. 12 wonderful colour plates and numerous b/w drawings - all of cats! 136 pages plus 4 page publication list. Spine and corners bumped and worn with slight loss of paper covering to lower front corner. Some light wrinkling to paper covering on covers. Name in ink to front pastedown. Foxing and light fingering to contents, light pink stain to inner margin of last plate (affecting the illustration slightly). A very desirable copy of a scarce Wain title. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

A Father Tuck's Panorama. Oblong format. 4 plates in concertina form that fold out to create a large panorama with 14 numbered card figures of cats, and corresponding numbered slits in the panorama to insert the cat figures. On the reverse is a rhyme by Arthur Burnaby with b/w illustrations also by Wain. Concertina folds worn leading to two pages being detached and last page fold fragile but holding. Edges rubbed. All figures present and in place. Light page bronwing. Colour illustrations and figures nice and bright.
