A general picture of the growth of British civil air transport from the slender experimental beginnings such as the Hendon-Windsor mail of 1910 through to the formation of Imperial Airways in 1934. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. 407 pages including index. Light discolouration to boards. Lower boards have a few whitem arks at edges. Text block browned and stained. Small name and date in ink to front endpaper. Damp staining to margins of plates and also a little to contents margins. Dustwrapper is also dampstained nad is rubbed to top edge, lightly browned to rear panel.
