Large format. Glazed pictorial boards. Diagonal title to front cover with characters either side. Spine bumped with small splits to top, larger split to bottom with heavy wear. Lower corners worn, a couple of tiny nicks to edges. Covers slightly grubby. Joints just starting to crack. Surface paper damage along top edge of front endpaper and pastedown. Grubby mark to text block. Belongs to box completed and partially erased. Colouring to helter-skelter on title page. Grubby fingermarks to a few lower margins but rest of contents clean.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Spine darkened with a couple of nicks to cloth on top edge. Bump to lower edge of front cover. Covers have some scuffing causing light patches, darkening to some edges. Completed bookplate to front endpaper. A few hinges cracked, some showing webbing beneath. Light browing to endpapers. Contents very good, just an odd mark. All colour plates present, two are partially detached.

Some fox spots and marks to contents including erased pencil writing to one page. Colouring to one small illustration. Light page browning.

Small piece missing from edge of rear pastedown and light stain to top corner. Ink inscription to verso of frontis. A couple of corner tips creased. A few closed margin tears with no loss. Occasional fox spots and light margin marks but overall a decent copy with contents clean and bright.
