During the summer of his twenty-first birthday, Lawrence of Arabia walked 1100 miles through Palestine and Syria, visiting every Crusader castle there of imprortance. Preface by Michael Haag. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. ISBN: 090715168X. Horizontal edges of boards lightly browned. Corners lightly rubbed. Text block browned and a little grubby. Small address label to front pastedown. Compliment slip from the National Army Museum, Chelsea glued in to front endpaper with gift inscription. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is scuffed and edge-worn.

Part I: Medieval; Part II: Sub-Medieval; Part III: Renaissance. Red cloth. B/w photos and numerous line drawings. Spines and corners are bumped. Spines are sunned. Endpapers are lightly browned, there is some light foxing to each volume. Dustwrappers are slightly worn at spine and corners with minimal loss. A nice set.
