Two volumes, second series first published date is 1877. People of note from Lancashire including Samuel Crompton who invented the spinning-mule. Red cloth boards with black & gilt titles. Bevelled edges. B/w frontis to volume one. Volume one top of spine is fraying with a little loss of cloth. Inscriptions in ink to prelims. Joints splitting and therefore binding fragile but holding. A few damp stains to margins.
