Top & tail of spine and corners lightly rubbed. Pictorial onlay is a little scuffed. Front endpaper is MISSING. Front hinge starting to pull. A few grubby marks to contents (not bad at all for age). Text block browned.

Boards marked and grubby. Front board of volume I has the remains of a sticker to top. Rear board of volumes II heavily faded. Inscription in ink and browning to front endpapers. Joints cracked. Some neat pencil annotation to volume I. Foxing throughout.

Being the only full and authentic account of the famous shipwreck extant, founded on collected official, documentary, and personal evidence, and containing the narratives and lives of actors in the most glorious ocean tragedy in history. B/w plates. Covers are very heavily damp stained - so that they look almost mottled. Joints are cracked; some weakening to binding. Prize plate to front pastedown. Foxing and some page browning. Still a good reading copy.
Large format. Brown suede covers with gilt titles and vignettes. Brown and white pictorial endpapers. 16 superb colour plates. Poems that are "the very essence of the British spirit" selected and introduced by Nichols. All plates present. Spine slightly bumped. Rear cover a little scuffed. 4 x 4 inch piece cut from top corner of front endpaper. Contents near fine.

Spine faded, bumped and worn with tiny nicks to cloth at ends. Water(?) stain to top corner of rear cover alongside spine. A few other small marks to covers, corners bumped and worn. Front pastedown faded, ink inscription to front endpaper. Rear pastedown also faded with some leeching of colour from cover, to top inside corner, from stain on verso. A few hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Contents have a few marks and fox spots but most pages are clean. All plates present.
