Second Edition. As illustrated by Ancient Remains, and the Manners and Customs of Modern Savages. Leather spine & corners, 5 raised bands to spine, gilt title and tooling to spine. Dark navy/black cloth boards. Marbled endpapers. 5 b/w plates and illustrations. xxvii and 619 pages including index. Leather spine & corners lightly rubbed at edges, gilt to spine is rubbed. Text block browned. Front joint is BROKEN so front cover is detached from text block. Personal bookplate to free front endpaper. Some pencil annotation. Some foxing present. One or two small dampstains and a few grubby marks. Hinges are pulled but binding is generally sound bar the broken front joint. Overall, a decent copy for a work of its age.
