A delightful story of the Earth's past through successive geological eras, in the company of Helen and her little elf-like friend Whirlaway. Dark pink cloth, black titles and vignette to front cover. Blue and white pictorial endpapers. 9 colour plates and numerous b/w drawings. 237 pages. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Some fading to covers and foxing to spine, there is a horizontal black felt-tip(?) pen mark to centre of spine. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Foxing to prelims, endpapers and textblock.
