Almost very good condition.
10 short stories. 10 colour plates including frontis. Cream cloth boards, green titles, large pictorial onlay to front cover shows young boy picking a rose up from the road that has been dropped by a young girl clutching a handful of roses. Green & white fairy ring to endpapers. B/w illustrations to margins. 101 pages. First story is The Golliwog's Lesson. Spine and corners bumped, a couple of small dents to cover edges. Spine is bumped and rubbed. Damp stains to edge of front cover. Tiny piece of loss to top corner tip of front free-endpaper. A couple of small margin tears to prelims. Light foxing to prelims and textblock. Some grubby fingermarks and some large foxspots to pages but generally contents clean.

Cream paper boards with red title to front, illustration of cat holding a kitten and rocking three kittens in cradle to front. Many b/w illustrations on Wain's anthropomorphic animals especially cats. Boards are edge worn with some slight loss of surface paper. Inscription in ink to top margin of title-page (dated 1902). Some small margin tears and one page has a large repaired tear (very neat repair). Small patch of surface paper loss to lower edge of one full-page b/w illustration. Light vertical crease to one page. Generally a very decent copy of a scarce book.

Colour illustrations. 62 pages. Books is nice and clean (covers and contents). Dustwrapper is edge rubbed and creased with small tears and piece missing to top of spine edge on front panel. Printed price on front flap has been crossed out with pink felt-tip pen, 'new' price written in same pink pen.

Railway series no. 19. Sir Handel is grumpy and complains about the coaches causing trouble for him. Rheneas tells him that he should be grateful that he does not work on a mountain railway. Sir Handel does not believe such a thing exists, and an argument ensues until Donald arrives with Culdee, a mountain engine. Small oblong format. Blue boards, white titles and vignette to front. Colour illustrations. 56 pages. Light foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge rubbed and creased with small tears, printed price on front flap has been crossed out with pink felt-tip pen, 'new' price written in same pink pen.
