A comprehensive study of the geography and topography of the Tay Basin region in Scotland. The author provides a detailed description of the landscape, including the rivers, lakes, and mountains that make up the region. The book also covers the history of the region, including the settlements and communities that have existed there over the centuries. Brown cloth boards. 3 b/w engravings including frontispiece. xii and 226 pages plus appendix and subscribers list to rear, and a list of works lately published. Contents tight but both joints broken and contents being held in the boards by the lower edge of cloth covering spine. Corners worn. Boards rubbed and marked. A few foxspots to contents. All three plates present with sme staining and browning mainly to margins.

Full brown calf binding with gilt decorations and title to spine. All edges red. Description historique et geographique des treize cantons Suisses et de leurs allies nouvelle edition. Two volumes in one. 4 folding b/w maps. 3 single page b/w maps. 30 b/w plates and one folding b/w plate. Text in French. Covers slightly rubbed at edges, spine slightly sunned. New marbled endpapers. Most pages have light brown stain on lower half of page (looks like ancient dampstain). Last sentence on page 272 has been adversely affected with a couple of words illegible. Otherwise the text is bright and readable. One map is browned at corner. Majority of plates not marked. A handsome copy.
