Two short stories in one volume. 3 tipped-in colour plates mounted on brown card plus b/w text illustrations. Small format. Brown boards with onlay to front. Spine slightly bumped. Page browning to endpapers and some light foxspots to contents else clean.
A sad but funny story about a strange kind of marriage. Laminate on wrapper starting to split at spine edge. Wrapper has a small closed edge-tear.

This is the U.S. edition. Light blue cloth, gilt vignettes and titles to spine and front cover. Top edges gilt. White design on green endpapers. 232 pages. 10 x 7.5". 12 colour plates. B/w text illustrations. Spine very slightly bumped and rubbed. Top 2" of spine and a tiny section to top edge of rear cover faded. A few tiny spots to edge of textblock. Endpapers are browned. Dustwrapper is edge torn with tape repairs on verso, loss to top of spine and slightly grubby on rear panel.
Olive green cloth, gilt titles and vignettes to front cover and spine. Large format. Dark green pictorial endpapers. Top edge gilt, others uncut. 24 mounted colour plates with captioned tissue guards, 12 full-page tinted illustrations plus numerous b/w drawings. Book: all plates present. Tissue guard to frontis heavily foxed not affecting plate. Title page lightly foxed. Spine slightly faded and bumped. Corners rubbed.
