Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
A Leaden Treasury of English Verse. hair-raising parodies of familiar verses. Terrifying if they were not so funny - and funny if they were not so terrifying! Yellow mottled boards with green title to spine and vignette of tree to front cover. B/w illustrations throughout. 109 pages. A few faint margin marks to contents. Wrapper is price-cut, nicked and rubbed at corners with a small closed tear at lower spine.

Some of the rhymes that delighted children in the reign of George III. Dark blue cloth, gilt title and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. Ex-Library with ink stamp, tape and labels removed from front endpapers, writing to publisher's page, rest of contents unmarked. Some light foxing, mainly to text block. Dustwrapper has fading to spine and panels alongside, also small tear to front panel.

No. 3 of Old Nursery Rhymes. Floral decorated boards with circular picture to front. Small oblong format. Pretty pastel illustrations every page. A little wear to spine and corners. Just a couple of light foxspots. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a couple of small chips and tears, small amount of loss from top edge of rear panel. Also slightly grubby with light browning to flaps.

Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few tears and chips, slight loss from top of spine and rear fold. Spots of surface loss from title on spine. Also a bit grubby. Light browning to flaps.

Almost very good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper.
Cream cloth, dark green titles and decorative peach border to front cover. Beautiful mounted colour plates and two-tone text illustrations. 108 pages. Bumping to spine and corners. Inscription in ink to half title page which has been partially covered in black ink, some of which can be seen on next page. Light brown marks to prelims which correspond with ink marks. Some page browning. Fingering to some pages. Edges of pages 25 - 32 have been roughly trimmed. Dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with some tears. Loss to bottom of spine. Spine is browned. Wrapper is grubby.

Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
Rhymes you knew at school, all collected together for the first time and combined with the Opie's valuable notes, witty and erudite. Blue cloth. Spin and corners bumped. A couple of small faded patches to spine. Foxing to endpapers and textblock. Price-cut wrapper is foxed and has a couple of patches of loss to spine (corresponding with the faded patches to the book).

A couple of hinges cracked. A few fingermarks to contents. Light browning to margins of plates.
