Orange and pale blue pictorial boards. 9 colour plates. Numerous b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped, corners worn. Cover edges rubbed. Scuffing to rear cover. Name and date in ink to belongs to box. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Heavy foxing to textblock and some page margins, some fingermarks to pages.

A tale of the Gold Rush to California. Red pictorial cloth with gilt titles. 6 b/w plates. 368 pages, all edges olivine. Spine and corners bumped. Covers edge rubbed. Spine slightly discoloured. Rear cover ever so slightly grubby. Name plate to front pastedown. Names and dates in ink to verso of front free-endpaper and to half title-page. Name on half title-page crossed out. Front joint cracked. Foxing to contents. Some hinges pulled causing contents to be a little loose but still tightly bound.

Beige cloth, brown titles and borders. 4 b/w plates. vi + 360 pages. Reprint (The first edition of this book was in 1910, but this copy dated about 1930 by the Angela Brazil titles advertised on the rear of the jacket.) A very few foxspots to outer page edges. A superb copy in bright original wrapper.
