Purple cloth spine with black title and illustration, Lilac pictorial boards. Colour plates plus b/w illustrations. Covers are edge worn and a bit grubby. Spine bumped and rubbed. Tiny booksellers sticker to front pastedown. Grubby fingermarks to contents and some foxing. Slight paper damage to top corner of front free-endpaper (pencil erasure?).

Light brown cloth with gilt titles to spine and front cover. Green and yellow decorations to front cover. B/w illustrations. Bumping and wear to spine and corners; faded to spine and edge of front cover. Some other marks to covers. Hinges are pulled in various places - so binding is starting to weaken. Foxing.

Green pictorial cloth with gilt titles to spine and front. 6 b/w plates. 282 pages plus 32 page book list at rear. Some bumping to spine and corners. Corners rubbed. Couple of little bumps to top and bottom of rear board. Book leans to one side. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Front joint and some hinges badly cracked meaning binding feels loose. Marks mostly to margins of some pages. 1 plate is MISSING and one is detached.

Prize plate to front pastedown. Contents browned and fingered, some hinges cracked.
