Large format. Colour pictorial boards show children running after dog. 16 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. 287 pages. Edited by Chisholm. First story: Pocket Thunder by Harold Avery. Spine bumped, picture on it worn, 1.5" split to bottom of front edge. Bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Covers very grubby. Erased writing and faint ticks to both endpapers and verso of frontis. Pencil writing about contents to front endpaper. Some light foxing and a few marks to contents but most pages are clean. All plates present.
Chatterbox Library. Green decorated cloth with gilt titles. 137 pages plus 16 page publication list to rear. 4 b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Small mark to lower edge of rear cover. Endpapers browned. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Rear joint is cracked. Some light foxing to contents. "now increased in price" ink stamp to top margins of some of the publication list pages.

Some wrinkling to paper covering front board and slight damage to edge. Covers a little grubby. Colour frontis almost detached. Verso of frontis has ink inscription and is partially browned. Ink stamp to front pastedown, small ink numbers to front endpaper. Some page browning throughout.

Packed with colour, two-tone and b/w plates and text illustrations, including one b/w doggy illustration by Wain. First story is 'The Snow Man'. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Some light rubbing and spotting to covers. Endpapers lightly browned. Grubby fingermarks to page margins, first few pages a little grubby. One page has a large closed tear which has been neatly repaired.
