First item is "Cheerful Conversation". 1 b/w Louis Wain illustration entitled "A bogus Father Christmas". Spine slightly bumped and grubby. Corners worn. Rear cover is slightly grubby. Endpapers have been professionally replaced. Contents are browned and foxed.
Large format. Cloth spine with black title and vignette. Colour front board showing 2 children with their teddies and pixies. 8 colour plates plus b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Covers edge worn. Rear cover is slightly grubby. Inscription in ink to centre of title-page. Foxing to contents. Small repair with white tape to rear joint.

Board corners worn, Boards a little grubby. Belongs to box completed in pencil. Hinges pulled but binding tight. A few scattered foxspots. Some neat colouring e.g. b/w illustration opposite page 52.

Shows distinctive Wain cat depictions. Wear to spine. Creasing to cover corners. A few light foxspots. Name in ink to top of title page.

Large format. Cloth spine, pictorial boards show children drawing on blackboard. First story is "The Elf-Girl and the Prince". Pretty colour plates by Temple. B/w illustrations throughout including one small picture by Wain featuring 3 cats in the sea. Bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Inscription in ink to belongs to page. Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Wrapper is creased with a few large tears and chips; only a little loss to a couple of corners and top of spine.
Card wraps. Circular pictorial onlay to front cover, showing a boy climbing over a stile. 4 colour plates. B/w illustrations. First story/rhyme is 'Compulsory Education'. Heavy creasing and foxing and wear to covers. Presentation plate is stuck to inside front cover. Grubby marks and foxing to pages.
Stories and Pictures for the Little Ones edited by Mabel Mackintosh. Stiff card covers, pictorial front shows boy and girl collecting mussels. B/w illustrations, at least six by Wain. Staples rusty. Covers slightly grubby. Prize plate to front pastedown. Contents very good, just an odd fox spot.
Brown stiff card wraps with black titles and decoration, onlay of dog in basket. Advert to rear. 4 colour plates, 1 is by Wain. Short stories and rhymes. Repaired split to base of spine. Contents generally clean. Foxing to verso of three plates but not the Wain one.

A little bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Covers slightly grubby. Front joint cracked next to frontis and one hinge cracked. Some light browning and foxing to contents. All plates present. Neat colouring to some of the b/w illustrations.

First story is "Little Miss Robinson Crusoe" by Corbett. Includes some b/w cat illustrations by Wain. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Spine faded and silver rubbed. A few marks to covers and two scratches to onlay. Joints cracked, rear joint showing webbing. Label, with name on, stuck to front endpaper covering writing, label partially removed below. Edge of front endpaper creased with small tears. Contents generally clean, all plates present.
