Backstrip worn and front cover just starting to split from contents because of this. A little unobtrusive annotation to contents in pencil. Text block browned. Plates have some foxing present.

Large format. Blue boards with gold titles and decorations. Being a Book of Verse for Girls & Boys. Written in Old French Forms. B/w illustrations. Uneven browning/fading to covers. 1.5" loss to paper cover at base of spine; 1" loss to top. Bumping and wear, with some chipping to corners and cover edges. Foxing is heaviest to endpapers, prelims, outer page edges and last few pages. 2" closed tear to half-title page.
Fifth Edition. Edited with a Biographical Sketch of the author by Evans. Olive green cloth, gilt title to spine and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. xcvii + 267 pages includes index. Top & tail of spine worn with fraying. A few marks to rear board. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Joints and hinges pulled, binding fragile.
Two volumes, second series first published date is 1877. People of note from Lancashire including Samuel Crompton who invented the spinning-mule. Red cloth boards with black & gilt titles. Bevelled edges. B/w frontis to volume one. Volume one top of spine is fraying with a little loss of cloth. Inscriptions in ink to prelims. Joints splitting and therefore binding fragile but holding. A few damp stains to margins.
Maroon cloth, gilt titles, gilt border to front cover. 153 pages. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. A few margin marks to contents but generally clean.

Spine and corners bumped and worn with small tear in cloth at base of spine. Covers darkened at edges and on spine. Front hinge cracked. Inscription in ink on verso of front endpaper. All plates present. One tissue guard detached. Foxing to tissue guards. Plates clean except for a very few which have minor foxing at the edges. A bright copy.

Ex-lib but with just one small library stamp on title page and small date stamp on rear pastedown. A few pencil marking to front endpapers plus a mark from possible label removal. All plates present. Occasional small foxspots but overall contents are beautifully bright and clean.

Covers edge worn, covers a little grubby and scratched. Tiny patch of surface paper damage to front cover. Grubby fingermarks to page margins.
