Large format. 24 gorgeous colour plates. The story of Snip and Snap, two spaniel puppies. Grey paperboards with colour onlay to front. Pictorial endpapers. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Couple of splits to spine, which is also grubby, with a little fraying to top and tail. Some scuffs and surface paper damage to onlay to front cover. Damp marks to edges of rear covers, but only goes through a little to rear endpapers. Damp marks also to corners of front cover. Page browning, with the odd foxspot. Hinges are pulled in places, so that binding is starting to weaken, a few magic tape repairs. Illustrations are still wonderful!!

Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some page browning; odd foxspot. Contents are still generally very good.

Red and black illustrations throughout. Spine and corners are bumped and worn. Chipping and wear along cover edges. A few small scuff marks to covers, with a few pencil marks and some foxing/grubby marks. Name and date in belongs to box in ink. Some minor colouring to first 31 pages (A blue pencil colour has been used). Foxing to outer page edges and page margins and some pages internally. Binding is nice and tight for its age. A couple of hinges are a little pulled. A few small page margin nicks/tears.

Wrappers are still present, but have varying degrees of tears and chips; very browned to spines; other grubby marks and browning to panels; a little loss.

This facsimile edition has been reproduced from the manuscript Egeron MS 747 in The British Library through digital photography by Laurence Pordes, and printed at The Bath Press, Glasgow, on Phoneix Motion Xenon paper.This edition of 1000 copies has been bound for the members of The Folio Society by Smith Settle of Otley in full goatskin leather, with leather onlayhs, over bevelled boards, blocked with a design by David Eccles, with handmade laid-paper endleaves from the Fabriano mill. Contained in a green cloth box, with smaller separate 'Commentary' book. This is Copy No. 45. Only blemish is a small circle of surface paper lifting to copy number page and opposite page. Commentary book is also in fine condition in a near fine box, which has small bump and light mark.
