Very large format - 18 x 14". Red spine, pictorial boards. Gorgeous colour pictures of fairies plus colour decorations surrounding text. Due to the size of this book, if posted, it will need to be sent via courier and may incur extra shipping costs. Boards beautifully bright and clean (just a couple of small marks to top of front board and small nick to cloth spine. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn and torn with slight loss, tape marks to rear panel, a few grubby marks.

The last hardcover annual to be published during the war years and widely considered to be the best Rupert annual ever. Front cover shows Rupert holding a paddle and waving while Algy looks on from a little boat. First story Rupert and the Red Egg. 118 pages. Backstrip missing. Edges rubbed, corners worn. Boards a little grubby. Name in belongs to box. Front joint split but binding thread holding. Some hinges pulled. Page 15/16 detached but present. Foxing and browning throughout. A few pages have a tear to lower margin, sometimes affecting text.

Bump to top corner has carried on through to contents meaning that the corner tip of each page is creased (only affecting margin). Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly creased at corners else nice and bright. Contained in publisher's slipcase which is lightly scuffed and bumped, small split to lower rear edge.

Dustwrappers are lightly browned and a little creased, a few minor foxspots present.

Unabridged republication of the eleven volume work "Animal Locomotion: an electro-photographic investigation of consecutive phases of animal movements originally published in 1887. Includes all 781 plates. Most of the plates show three different simultaneous perspectives on a single action - front, rear, and side or three-quarter view - which Muybridge achieved through ingenious use of from 152 to 56 cameras and his own electromagnetic tripping device. Large format. Pale blue cloth boards with dark blue title label and gilt title to spine. Very heavy! Text blocks slightly grubby. Contents are fine. Grey pictorial dustwrappers are lightly creased and lightly scuffed.
