Very good condition.
Olive green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. 36 tipped-in colour plates mounted on grey card with captioned tissue guards plus 36 b/w illustrations. 369 pages. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. 2" thick. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Foxing to prelims and textblock. Endpapers lightly browned. Front joint is just starting to crack. A nice copy of this beautiful book.

Slightly better than good condition.
Pictorial boards with dark titles to spine. Colour frontis plu b/w illustrations. Adverts on endpapers. Spine bumped and worn with small split at top. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Covers are grubby. Front joint and one hinge badly cracked showing webbing below. A couple of other hinges beginning to crack. Remains of a blue presentation plate to front endpaper. Small, blind bookseller's stamp to front endpaper. Endpapers browned. Tissue guard for frontis is detached and browned. Some grubby marks to page margins. Advertising leaflet inserted into book.
