Large format. Blue cloth spine, with pictorial onlay. Front cover shows colourful birds sitting on a perch. First story is 'Nimble-Gnome and the Fairy Baby'. Some chipping to onlay on spine. Covers are bumped and worn. Surface paper damage to front cover; with some loss, which has been 'coloured in'. Foxing and grubby margin marks. Lengthy inscription in ink to front endpaper.

Browning to top edge of text block. Contents clean. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn with tears, creasing and chips along top edge. Spine faded/browned.

First poem is Flowers for Mummy by Jessie Pope. Spine and corners bumped. Corners very worn. Some surface paper damage to top of front cover. Mark to bottom of front board which also affects rear cover and bottom of last 6 pages. Rear board is grubby and marked.Couple of hinges pulled. Closed tear to side margin of one page. Prize presentation plate to verso of front endpaper. Some light fingering otherwise contents are generally clean.

Spine bumped and worn with 0.5" split to front edge. Wear to corners and cover edges. Covers grubby with marks and scratches. Both joints cracked. One sheet (4 pages) loose, have become detached from rusty staples. Prize plate to front pastedown, bookseller's ink stamp to rear pastedown. Pages edge browned with a few marks and fingermarks. Chromos still bright.
