Large format. Red holly decorated cloth with pictorial onlay to front of girls collecting holly. Orange titles to front cover, gilt to spine. Edited by Flora Klickman. Colour and b/w illustrations. Illustrated title page by Maude Angell. 704 pages. Spine bumped and faded with 2 inch split at rear edge and nicks at top and tail and front edge. Corners a little worn. Covers have some marks. Front joint weak but holding. Inscription in ink on verso of front endpaper. Contents very good.

Browning to endpapers and page edges. Contents very good. All plates present.

All plates present but one has a hole near the edge.

Colour plates, two-tone and b/w text illustrations. Spine bumped with a few small, light marks. Wear to corners and cover edges. Rear cover slightly grubby. Paper covering rear joint split for 1" at top and bottom. Nick to outside edge of front endpaper. Dated ink inscription to verso of frontis. A couple of hinges cracked. Brown mark, mostly to inner margins of two pages, one of which is a two-tone illustration page. A few fox spots and fingermarks but generally clean otherwise.

A story of three children and a toy newspaper. Attractive green pictorial cloth, showing Golly sitting at a window. Black title block to spine. 8 b/w plates. Spine and corners are a bit bumped and worn, with damp mark to a couple. Marks to covers. Joints are cracked. Bookplate to front endpaper. Corner torn off frontis. A small margin piece missing from another plate internally. Most plates have 1-2 margin tears to them, with grubby finger marks. One page of 'Golly News' is detached, but still present. A reading copy.

One of a series of four story books, each with 6 colour plates and scores of illustrations. This one has very pretty pictorial boards showing a little boy peeping from behind a tree at a little girl sitting eating an apple. Pictorial endpapers by W. Heath Robinson. Front endpaper shows characters from fairy tales, rear endpaper characters from nursery rhymes. Red cloth spine with black titles. 10x8". Spine is a little grubby. A few scuff marks to covers. Corners are bumped and worn. Foxing to outer page edges. A few closed margin tears. One hinge pulled. Five of six colour plates missing. 4 b/w illustrations have been coloured in.
