B/w illustrations. Surface paper lifting/damage to top corner of front cover and lower half of rear cover. Some other scuffs and marks to covers; bumping to corners. Presentation plate to front pastedown, with name in ink. A few edge-chips to front endpaper, which is also browned. Some margin marks, browning and a little foxing. All plates present.

Orange boards, pictorial onlay to front cover shows girl playing piano, onlay to spine shows toys in boat. Colour and three tone plates plus b/w text illustrations. Contains short stories and verse. Spine bumped and worn, splits to ends, vertical crease to centre, onlay slightly grubby with a little damage to edges. Minimal bumping and wear to corners. Covers a little grubby with light scratches to front cover. Front joint is broken but is being held in place by threads from binding. First two gatherings pulled so feel loose. A couple of hinges cracked. Tear to bottom of rear endpaper close to spine. A few fox spots to edges.

A couple of margin tears. Some light foxing and marks to contents but generally clean. All plates present but one has loss from margin and two have margin tears.

It is possible that the frontispiece is missing (not sure if there was one or not). Name and address in ink in belongs to box. Foxspots and light fingering to contents.
